Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is a deep exfoliation of the top layer (epidermis) of the skin. It consists of using several types of acids to lift away dead skin cells, refine skin texture and treat a variety of skin conditions. It gives the skin a fresh, refined look. Chemical peels are useful for treating acne scars and pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, blackheads, texture, and enlarged pores.
Individual results may vary.

Contraindication/Risks Chemical peels are not for everyone. Please book a consultation with our clinicians for guidance on what treatment is right for you. Chemical peels are not recommended for individuals using Accutane, Retinoids, or any medications that may compromise and thin out the skin. It is also not recommended for anyone who is pregnant, has severe sensitive skin, rosacea, or active acne lesions.

During your chemical peel, you may experience a tingling sensation and your skin may feel warm. This is completely normal and to be expected. You may notice some redness and feel as though you have a mild sunburn after your first superficial peel. Deeper peels may cause moderate to severe redness, potential swelling, and peeling of the skin for 7-14 days (about 2 weeks). Your clinician will decide on the best type of peel for your skin and will guide you on how to take care of your skin after treatment. To maintain and prolong the results of a chemical peel it is important to follow the correct aftercare routine, complete with antioxidants, proper hydration, and SPF.
